OneFootball Acquires Gloria, a Soccer-Centric Social Network

SPORT TECHIE - Germany-based soccer media giant OneFootball has acquired Gloria, a soccer-centric social network whos. The deal will help grow women's soccer content on OneFootball, while Gloria's founder Victoire Cogevina has become VP of Women's Football at OneFootball. OneFootball has ~100M active users globally and features live scores, news, and stats in addition to regional rights to live stream matches from top leagues.

Soccer Scouting App Gloria Raises $3M in Seed Round

SPORT TECHIE - Mar 31 - Soccer video scouting and social networking app Gloria has raised $3M in funding, the startups' co-founders Victoire Cogevina and Matias Castello announced. The seed round was led by venture fund Seven Seven Six, which was founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who also serves on Gloria's board. Ohanian's former investment firm, Initialized Capital, was an early investor in Gloria and also participated in the latest round, which included an unnamed group of players and executives from American and European soccer clubs. Gloria is currently in beta and is expected to fully launch around the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
