Friar also talked about Nextdoor's use of generative AI and its principles on transparency, safety, and privacy. She believes that technology brings benefits to society and there is a need to work with regulators and deploy technology with safety and transparency. Regarding San Francisco as a tech hub, Friar believes that there is something special about Silicon Valley and remains optimistic about the work coming from universities in the area.
