FORBES RUSSIA - VKontakte (VK) is reportedly expanding its network of servers in a joint project with Russian telecommunications providers. The move is to allow VK to withstand a spike in traffic if the Russian authorities ban YouTube, which has been anticipated since the country's crackdown on anti-government speech in the wake of the Ukrainian conflict. VK has promised telecom companies that it will increase its own traffic by poaching popular Russian-language bloggers from YouTube.
