TECH CRUNCH - OneRoof is building a social network for residential buildings. OneRoof wants to build up a presence inside large multi-unit buildings so that neighbors can get to know each other in smaller, tighter-knit circles. The app has raised a $1.25M seed to raise to carry out this vision. The app is live in ~400 buildings in New York City.

GLOBE NEWSWIRE - DatChat announced the launch of DatChat Social Network+, a social-networking-focused expansion of the DatChat messaging platform. TECH CRUNCH - Twitter introduces Spaces Recording, an option that allows hosts to record their live audio sessions in Twitter Spaces to make them available for replay. TECH CRUNCH - TikTok is expanding its Video Kit offering for developers to include those building apps for the web, desktop and consoles, in addition to its previous support for mobile platforms. Video Kit is TikTok's solution, which includes the "Share to TikTok" option that allows third-party tools and apps to integrate with TikTok so their users can upload video files directly to TikTok from their own app's editing platform.

VC CIRCLE - Vivoiz Healthtech, which owns and operates Healofy, a social networking app focused on parenting, has raised $6.5M in a Series-B funding round. Additionally, Healofy has raised $1 million in debt from Stride Ventures. The Healofy app has ~600K DAU and 2M MAU, and ~9M app downloads. The app has been #1 in the 'parenting' category on the Google Play Store for 3 years running.

TECH CRUNCH - In its first-ever Congressional hearing, TikTok successfully dodged questions about its plans to do with the biometric data its privacy policy permits it to collect on the app's US users. The hearing was meant to be focused on social media's detrimental impacts on children and teens but often expanded into broader areas of concern related, as the lawmakers dug into the business models, internal research, and policies being made at Snap, TikTok, and YouTube.

THE VERGE - Amazon is building a new app, codenamed "Project Mic," that gives anyone the ability to make and distribute a live radio show, complete with music. This project's big goal is to democratize and reinvent the radio. The app will be focused on the US initially.

MARKETWATCH - PayPal, 3.21% rallied in premarket trade, and Pinterest -12.50% tumbled after the payments firm said it wouldn't bid for the art-sharing social network. PayPal shares jumped 6%, while Pinterest fell 10%.

REUTERS - Australia plans to make social media companies obtain parental consent for users under 16, with multimillion-dollar fines for failing to comply. Draft legislation to enhance online privacy protections would require companies such as Facebook, Reddit, Bumble, and Whatsapp to take all reasonable steps to determine users' ages and prioritize children's interests when collecting data.
